While we’re expanding to include all sorts of fun party and holiday ideas, I will never stop loving themed Christmas trees! This Valentine’s Day Themed Christmas tree is perfect for celebrating February’s love day! No only is it so happy and sparkly, but it’s a great excuse to postpone putting your Christmas tree away for a little while longer. And who doesn’t love a good reason to procrastinate?
I started with a white Christmas tree. It gave my Valentine’s Day tree such a light fluffy feel! One of my goals for this tree was to keep costs low. I’ve got to have money left to buy Valentines and a gift for my love after all. So everything on this tree is made of paper because as well all know by now, if you’ve got to save money use paper!
To start I began making these adorable Candy Conversation Hearts!
So simple! Cut out some hearts from pastel cardstock paper. My hearts are roughly 6″ x 6″, but you can make them any size you’d like. I liked this size because it made it really easy to paint the words on to them. Using a nice, hot pink acrylic paint and a short flat brush, I painted on my favorite conversation heart phrases. If you’re not watching your budget or you don’t think you’ll be able to paint with a steady hand, I recommend buying letter stickers from a craft store. All these colorful candy hearts make for a lovely start to this Valentine’s Day Themed Christmas Tree.
I needed a little more to keep it from being too bare, so I cut out 6″ Xs and Os from holographic glitter paper. They sparkly so pretty from the Christmas tree lights! And we used them as props for our DIY Valentine’s Day Crown photoshoot that you can see here!
To top the tree off, I cut out LOVE from some more glitter paper (are you sensing a theme?). Then I taped them to pipe cleaners and wrapped them around the top branches. I love the way they hang around the top of the tree!
Here’s the Valentine’s Day Themed Christmas Tree in it’s entirely!
